Population and ProjectionsThe sixth largest county in Florida, Osceola County is well known to be the fastest growing area in Central Florida. Just between the 2000 census and 2006, Osceola Countys population grew by a remarkable 41.4%.

Osceola Countys pro-business attitude welcomes new industries and is proud of its existing industries. Establishments and expansions have included BASS a wholly subsidiary of ESPN, Inc., Symbol Mattress, Infrastructure Engineers, Inc., Norseman Plastics, and Lowes Regional Distribution Center, just to name a few. A growing, skilled, bi-lingual labor pool, excellent access to the Southeasts transportation networks and great quality of life have made these and many other success stories a reality. Osceola County is a vast land of resources waiting to be tapped.

Workforce

WorkforceOsceola County has a diversified and rapidly growing population and labor force. At the close of 2006, the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation marked Osceola’s workforce at approximately 120,138 people and has shown a steady growth of more than 4% annually over the last ten years. It also is important to note that Osceola County’s steadily growing population continues to advance the fastest in the primary employment age range of 25 to 44.

Major EmployersOne of our strongest assets, Osceola County has enjoyed rapid population growth over the last several decades. More importantly, this growth has been in the employable age ranges. This, combined with our centralized location, positions Osceola County well for manufacturing, distribution and corporate headquarters operations. It is important to mention, however, that with the aide of local education institutions and state training incentives, this highly adaptable workforce can be molded to fit any firm’s individual needs.
