Project Bedrock Announced

Osceola County, Florida - The Osceola County Economic Development Department brought forth Project Bedrock to the Tourist Development Council (TDC) and the Board of County Commissioners last month for consideration to commence negotiations.

ESPN Wide World of Sports would be the site of 24 United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Tournaments over a 20-year period. Negotiations beteween USBC and the County are ongoing. A third party would build the 100-lane facility.

The deal more than doubles the number of tournaments the USBC would bring to the County that was approved in an earlier agreement. The partnership is one more block that cements Osceola County's reputation as the "Amateur Sports Capital of the World."

The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) is the sport's national governing body with a membership base of 2 million. The Osceola County bowling center would be a host site for the USBC Open, Women's Championships, and Combined Championships (Open + Women's) on a recurring basis for at least 18 of the next 20 years.
