Natural Resource Parks/Preserves

Osceola County is perfect for the outdoor enthusiasts with seven nature preserves. The Lake Lizzie Nature Preserve in St. Cloud has 984 acres, while the Shingle Creek Regional Park in Kissimmee has 456.

Recreational Pathways/Trails

Osceola County has over 20 miles of paved and 40 miles of natural surface walking paths.

Culture

Osceola County offers a variety of culture experiences from cowboys to the arts.

  • The Silver Spurs Rodeo, the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River, brings competitors from throughout the United States. This rodeo is one of the top 50 events sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. For more information, please visit www.silverspursrodeo.com.
  • Osceola County Historical Center and Museum has preserved the heritage of the area for a collection of museum pieces and more dating from the 1800s.
  • Soldier City, located in St. Cloud, honors its service members with a Veteran Memorial Park.
  • St. Cloud Heritage Museum gives a glimpse of the city’s founding and evolution over the last century.
  • Historic Downtown Kissimmee is home to various sculptures, murals and monuments located throughout the downtown streets and Lakefront Park.
  • The Osceola County School for the Performing Arts also presents professional performances in addition to highlighting the abilities of area students.
  • Osceola Center for the Arts promotes the arts by producing six Broadway Series, seven Children’s Theatre Shows, Summer Stock Shows, Center Singers and Center Big Band Concerts per year. For additional information please go to www.ocfta.com.

Osceola County has access to both professional and amateur sports facilities such as:
The Osceola County Stadium is home of the Florida Fire Frogs and hosts a variety of amateur athletic tournaments with partnership with the U.S. specialty Sports Association, Triple Crown and World Baseball Federation. United States Specialty Sports Association’s Complex of the year winner went to Osceola County Softball Complex. The Complex is the official training facility for America’s Olympic Gold Medal winning Women’s Softball team. The five fields are built to U.S. Softball regulations, have a total of 2,500 bleacher seats and a three-story, state-of-the art clubhouse.

Silver Spurs Arena is an 8,300-seat multi-use facility which hosts a variety of events ranging from rodeos to cheerleading to BMX events.

Home to the Atlanta Braves Spring Training, the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex is located at Walt Disney World Resort. The Complex has 9,500 seats and nine venues that fit the needs of virtually any sporting event from football and basketball to karate and archery. It has ten tennis courts and the Cross Country Course and Track and Field Complex were designed to International Association of Athletics Federation specifications.

Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the beauty and design of Osceola County’s numerous golf courses designed by the sport’s greatest legends, including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, Johnny Miller, Tom Watson, and Rees Jones.
