Kissimmee Gateway Airport

Orlando International Airport (MCO)

MCO is operated and managed by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA). Approximately 12,294 acres (<20 square miles) comprises the airport property, making it the fourth largest airport in landmass in the US; four parallel runways; approximately 17,000 paved parking spaces.

The airport is located 14 minutes from Osceola County, and within a two-hour drive of more than 60 percent of Florida’s population). It closed 2019 with record-breaking domestic and international traffic, ending the year with a staggering 50.6 million annual passengers visiting Florida’s busiest airport, making it the busiest airport in the state and tenth busiest airport in the United States. Total passenger traffic was up 6.1 percent compared to 2018, a direct result of the thriving Central Florida economy and success within the region’s tourism industry.  International traffic increased 8.4 percent for the year bringing international visitation to an all-time high of 7,157,074 for 2019, and Domestic passenger traffic climbed by 5.7 percent to a new high of 43,455,953 for the year.

Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB)

With over 2.7 million passengers annually, Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) is ranked among the 100 busiest airports in the U.S. Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) #250 is the largest in the state with geographic boundaries encompassing SFB as well as the Port of Sanford, Sanford Central Park and various other industrial parks and sites throughout Seminole County. The FTZ offers duty and tariff exemptions on imported materials used in the manufacturing of products for export. SFB is also home to the 395-acre Orlando Sanford Airport Commerce Park which offers rail service and is easily accessed by major roadways including the Central Florida GreeneWay.

Passenger Rail

SunRail

SunRail is a 48.9-mile commuter rail system in Central Florida. The 32-mile first phase of SunRail, which opened in 2014, serves 12 stations and link DeBary to Sand Lake Road, south of Orlando. Phase II South, which opened in 2018, serves 4 additional stations, south to Poinciana.

Osceola County has three SunRail commuter rail stops – Osceola Parkway, Downtown Kissimmee and Poinciana, enabling thousands of people to commute from downtown Orlando and Orlando International Airport to Osceola County.

Amtrack

Amtrak is located at 111 East Dakin Avenue in Kissimmee and operates four daily long-distance trains through Florida.

Highways

Osceola County’s central Florida location offers easy highway access to the nation via Florida’s Turnpike, I-4, U.S. 192, U.S. 17-92, U.S. 441, Osceola Parkway, S.R. 417 and easy connections to both I-75 and I-95.

Ports

Osceola County’s shipping and cruising needs can be supported by Florida’s Regional Cargo Gateway (regional commodities) ports Canaveral, 62 miles east, and Manatee, 97 miles west.  Major Cargo Gateway (non-Florida commodities) Port of Tampa is 72 miles west of Osceola County.

Port Canaveral is home to Carnival Cruise Lines, Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Sterling Casino Line and SunCruz Casinos. In addition, regular port of call stops are made by Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises and others, bringing thousands of tourists to our area daily.
