Frito-Lay today announced intent to invest $130 million to construct a 286,000-square-foot high-tech service center on 75 acres across from the new Poinciana SunRail Station.

On Monday, the project was introduced to the County Commission as Frito-Lay. Company executives presented plans for a facility that will employ 200, and be completed by 2021.

The 286,000-square-foot service center for Frito-Lay in Osceola County will allow for continued growth in the county and the surrounding communities.

NeoCity will use $5.8 million from a key infrastructure grant awarded by Gov. Rick Scott today to complete a high-profile gateway road for the 500-acre technology district that is integral to enhancing the project’s connectivity and encouraging new partnerships.

Access to NeoCity is at the heart of this infrastructure project, and making it connected, functional and appealing is fundamental to its long-term success,” said Osceola Commission Chairman Fred Hawkins, Jr. “Creating high-profile roadways that provide connections to our existing transportation network will have an immediate impact in attracting new partners to our project.”

Global rating agency Fitch assigned an “AA-” rating to a $26.3 million bond issue that will be used to build and equip a 100,000 square foot office building at NeoCity, the County’s 500-acre technology district.

Today, Osceola County hosted its annual State of the County Address and announced that several major land development projects, all bordering Osceola Parkway, are underway.   The new projects include:

• Orlando Health’s 60,000 square foot emergency room and medical pavilion
• An Eastwind Development two-phase, 350 unit apartment complex
• A 128-room Hampton Inn Hotel by Daniel Corporation of Altamonte Springs
• A 120-room assisted living and memory care center by Providence One

With a focus on the future, officials dedicated a 109,000-square-foot building Thursday that is one of the most advanced research and manufacturing labs in the world.

The Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research Center was completed on schedule – 24 months after design began – and is ready to host new manufacturing technologies as the anchor of a 500-acre, master-planned site owned by Osceola County called NeoCity.
